Buckingham County is south of Charlottesville and near Scottsville. Buckingham has two towns, Buckingham Court House and Dillwyn.

When walking down the street or into a convenience store, noone is a stranger and everyone speaks. The James River serves as the western boundary of the county and provides many scenic opportunities especially on a clear day when you can see the spectacular Blue Ridge Mountains in the distant west.
